Today browsing through VideoHive forums I accidently ran into a post that said "Featured Author: Placdarms" I thought - well that's the old one from the time our items were featured twice in a row. But since it was on the top I had a curiosity to see what someone said about that old post. Opened up and then realised. It's not the old one. It's not about the featured file. It's featured author - Placdarms. So that's an honour from Envato community. Christmas is comming

Last week we had a meeting with guys from DVD project that we produced together. We talked about Christmas offers and stuff, but then I realised Christmas are so close. The end of this week is first advent. As a result I started to think what greeting cards should I send to my family friends and what should I prepare for our clients. And a thought stucked in my mind. I'm not the only one deling with this problem at this time of the year. Whole world is waiting this most wonderful time of the year and everyone want's to send out a personal, but stylish greeting card.

So we decided to create one, to give you a christmas creative boost. You can see this one here. Some more Christmas ideas, special offers and even free stuff are still to come. So check back soon.

Weddings and Funerals

However some of my friends are getting married today - I don't think it's a good time for wedding. It's not autumn anymore and not winter yet. Basicly everything is grey in this part of the world where I'm living. But you sould also know wedding is not about weather. It's about you and your fiancee. So if you happen to get married around this time now you have a nice way to tell anyone how did you met and invite them.

We've just finished and published Calendar project, which allows you to tell a short story of how you met, add some photos and invite your friends to join your celebration. Check the project video and bookmark it - because you can never know when will love come :)

This time we're colaborating with Ben Reynolds from Nashville, Tennessee He's a very talanted producer/writer/composer. He's an author of soundtrack for this project. I think it goes together perfectly. If you're looking for some soundtrack to give a right emotions to your own project or your event - be sure to check his other songs as well, or ask for custom made audio track.

Title said also something about funerals. Not that it's something that we're looking forward to, but time after time it happends anyway. That's why we also included special funeral version of this project that you can use as a retrospective view to ones life.

Investigate your project

Investigation Scene. This is a brand new project from Placdarms available on VideoHive. First came the idea then came implementation. We thought would be interesting to play around with the magnifier idea. Combining some advanced masking, Cycore Lens FX and TrackMates we came up with this stylish magnifier project. Next task was to think of implementation - how to make this project more interesting and useful. I have to admit - the music did it. As we were going through Audio Jungle database looking for right music the Detective Jazz Loop by Mihai Sorohan ceme up. It felt just perfect for the project and gave the inspiration for police lights, yellow ribbons and darkish overall style. Business Cards Portfolio: New AE template available

Just a short post to let you guys know - our new submission to VideoHive has been approved with a first go. Be sure to check out the project details and promo video. We'll be glad if you find this project template useful. We're also ready to customize it for you or make even something completely different for you.

To give you a small insight behind the scene we're posting a short story how we came up with this file. We started to play around with Expressions to get number of layers controlled by one Null object. As a result we came up with expression that is automatically spreading layers apart depending on their speed. You can see the result in the first part of the preview video. We also used layer number within the composition to define their order and position in the pile automatically. This is useful, because the only thing you need to do to add more layers is duplicate a layer. You don't have to change anything in Expression. Probably one day we will came up with tutorial in this subject.

We're featured by Envato community

It all begun in this summer. I was looking for flag animation for one of my projects and found this amazing project. Some months later we decided to take part ourselves and start to sell stock items at VideoHive.net At the end of August we uploaded the first items and some weeks later one of our files were picked by VideoHive staff as a This Week's featured file. That was surprise, but even more surprising was fact that next week another of our file got This Weeks featured file honour. We're taking this as a warm welcome to Envato marketplaces community. We have great ideas to offer them. So, check back soon. We might have one or two ready and available shortly.
